‘Laudato Si’ garden project is based in the Parish of Aberystwyth and is sited in the gardens of the Presbytery next to the Church of the Welsh Martyrs. The project was set up by Nick who got a calling to grow vegetables for the local community after reading Pope’s Francis encyclical letter Laudato Si. (Care for our Common home). The aim of the project is to promote the sustainable use of our natural resources to the parish & the local community. It provides a source of fresh vegetables & herbs being redistributed to those in need, homeless and local area. Project also provides opportunities for parishioners to volunteer their time & learn new skills. The hope is that as the garden grows & develops, we can establish a peaceful place near our church for parishioners to come closer to the natural environment.
